This glorious State called Gateway State is strategically located and
bordered to the South by Lagos the Commercial nerve centre of the country and
the Atlantic ocean, to the East by Ondo State and to the North by Oyo and Osun States,
its bordered with Republic of Benin to the West which makes it an access route
to the expansive market of the Economic Community of West Africa States
(ECOWAS) that is why Ogun State was named the Gateway State.
Mostly, all the companies in
Ogun State are located near border such as Agbara Industrial Estate, Sango
Industrial Estate, Mowe, Ibafo, Iju, Berger, and Atan Idi-Iroko etc. Most
businessmen, women and some indigenes of Ogun State were based in Lagos, Ibadan
and around the world which contributed immensely to the economy of the State

Ogun State has land mass of 16,409.26 square kilometers. The population
of Ogun State based on 2006 Census was 3,751,140. However, the estimated
population as at 2013 was 5.2 million.
