But where does the deceased Chief Sir Mobolaji Bank-Anthony,who I was informed was the Oba Olofin of Ijebuland, somewhere back in 1979 or so fit in this list?
ReplyDeleteThay are 2 olofin in history. Olofin ajaye and olofin adimula. But the first olofin is olofin Ajaye because he was excited in ijebu before oduduwa arrived at ile ife and oduduwa is 2nd olofin adimula. Olofin ajaye isn't oba in ijebu but he was chieftaincy and richest man than. Ifa olofin ajaye was the ifa (born or create) ijebu general. History of olofin ajaye is behind anybody knowledge because he isn't writing by anybody. Today I stop telling people's history because many people's as pass way before the time of oduduwa or anyone you heard or they mention for you. Remember orisa is excited before time of oba oduduwa. Oduduwa have history of oba only not how towns or villages excited. Some villages is excited before oduduwa arrived.
DeleteThis list is of those who were crowned as king of Ijebu-Ode. "Oba" Olofin of Ijebuland is a chieftaincy award and hence is not really a crowned king

DeleteThanks and God bless you. This list is highly informative and educative.
ReplyDeleteIt will be appreciated further if the list is inclusive of the royal families that produced each of the Awujales. For instance, the present Awujale is from the Ogbagba/Olutoyese royal family.

❑ Our ancestors were traders both male and female.
❑ Key early origin information can be traced to a woman called Erelu:
▪ She came from a royal house called BUBIADE royal family.
▪ Bubiade produced one awujale called Oba Jadiara
▪ Erelu had three daughters )

Anikilaya isn't a family name but a oriki too, so please don't mislead the new generation of son's and daughters who want to know the history of Ijebu Land.
The name of the present king is HRH Sikiru Oluwakayode Adetona.
